I’ve moved to MoAB!
Plan is to live here for a couple months help out a friend and save up some money to go do the Baja haha sailboat rally from San Diego down to Cabo San Lucas. I’m housesitting for my Fred, helping out with his Moto business and working at a coffee shop/book store. I feel like I have found my home. I LOVE Moab and all it has to offer and I’m loving being surrounded by motorcycles, books, coffee and adventure vagabonds like myself!

Sunset on Longs Peak
September 5th, 2008 · No Comments
Before leaving Colorado, Nathan and I went on a hike up the mountain that overlooks the valley I grew up in. It is one of those “special” spots for me, where i feel centered and inspired. You must climb to get to the top and once on top you have a 360 degree view of mountains, valley and Denver. When I was younger I sometimes hiked up in the morning to catch the sunrise…….a great way to start an inspired day!!!

I cut out bunch of my favorite pictures and put them all together on a poster board.
Looking at this makes me soo happy. And, hopefully it will help make my dreams (get a sailboat
and do a solo three week passage to the Pacific!) true.

My good ole brothers, enjoying our “bonfire” by the lake They are getting ready for a drive to Colombia in Sept. Now, I know how my poor mother feels when I’m going on random adventures! Its kinda worrisome, being the one who’s not going and imagining all the different challenges they will have to overcome along the way.

Back in Denver
July 23rd, 2008 · 1 Comment
As I am meandering in the ‘after trip reflections’ I’m enveloped by an inspiring energy and empowering perspective on the world. Anything is possible!!
I don’t have to fit myself into the world as a round peg going into a round hole!
I can expand out, in any direction.
Check out this video
I’m trying to motivate to sit down and do a write up on our trip. I am checking my email obsessively. Here is a poem Fred sent me. I love it! [Read more →]

Otra Vez……Moab!
July 11th, 2008 · 2 Comments
I left Denver and today I’m in Moab! I was getting worried it would be hard to leave Denver because I was having so much fun and making so many connections……but alas, I left and it felt great to be leaving……and on the road. I stopped and swam in the Colorado River a couple times along the way. Once, close to where the river begins and another time closer to Moab. Its interesting how much the river changes in the short distance. The smells, the feeling, the animals, the color of the water…… [Read more →]

Freedom ~
July 7th, 2008 · No Comments
Everything takes on its essential nature of dynamism - as opposed to the static of either/or and - and we feel the infinite nature of existence. To me, infinite refers to possibilities. We can’t intellectually comprehend infinity, but we can know freedom and that comes with removing the boundaries that define the limits that bind us. Balance lets us see this freedom. ~Tao of the Ride~

PickInG Up HiTcHiKeRs can be so much fun!

Driving on this little road along a river, on our way to find a campsite (on the 4th of July weekend! and impossible feat) we saw these hitchhikers along the road. At almost the same time, we looked at the empty back seat, looked at each other and shrugged. “Why not!” [Read more →]

Jeremy is guiding me through the process (bless his soul, how will I ever repay him!?) [Read more →]

Jeremy, Josh, Jimmy, Julia and I went (wow, all J’s! I didn’t realize that till I wrote it!) All went to the greek festival in Denver. It was so much fun. The greek culture seems so festive and relaxed and the food is delicious. After the festival, I was prepared to catch a sailboat going over to Greece! [Read more →]

2 - up moto camping
June 21st, 2008 · No Comments
I looked forward to this short 2 day camping trip for nearly 2 weeks! It was nearing the end of school and my friends who work in different school systems were already out for summer……… I can remember walking out of my house in Denver, staring up into the stars and wishing I could be sleeping underneath them, or doing night watch in the middle of the ocean……….not getting lesson plans ready for another hectic day of school! (not that I minded, it was some of the most fulfilling work I’ve ever done. But I was ready for SUmMerR!) So Forrest came through town on his v-strom and we were off, to explore a bit of Colorado’s front Range! [Read more →]

| Heres the start up story……….
On a farm where Sarah was raised, “What a bummer,” she thought, “these should have lasted longer.” On summer breaks from college, she helped her Dad with the hay. Instructing for Outward Bound, she led kids in the woods. |

The Invitation
June 13th, 2008 · 1 Comment
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain! I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty even when it’s not pretty, every day, and if you can source your own life from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, “Yes!”
It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.
